Description

3, Romans Place is an 18th-century timber-framed and plastered house, with a later red brick facade. It is part of a group with numbers 1 and 9-12 Lodge Road. The house is two storeys and attics, featuring a three-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars set in plastered reveals, topped with segmental heads. The ground floor has two 19th-century canted bay windows with slate roofs, and a central six-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight, set within a wooden doorcase featuring pilasters and an open modillion pediment. A raised brick band runs between the storeys, and the roof is tiled, with three flat-headed dormers to the front and two gabled dormers to the rear.
