Description
Hamlet Terrace is a 19th-century terrace of nine tenements located on the south side of Baddow Road. The building is constructed of stock brick with a stuccoed front elevation and features modern additions at the rear. The roof is ridged and gabled, clad in slate, and includes five chimney stacks with eight flues, as well as a four-flue stack on the east gable.
The front ground storey has four double porticos and one single portico, all featuring Doric details. There are nine round-headed sash-hung windows, each with eight panes and no horns. A moulded string runs along the first floor, which has ten pairs of eight-pane hornless sash windows, with two blind rectangular recesses above each portico. The eaves are supported by bold, scrolly consoles.
