Description

This is an 18th-century house located on Moulsham Chase. It is two storeys high with attics, constructed from large blue-glazed brick with dressings of gauged red brick. The windows have a distinctive appearance, with long and short work on the window returns and prominent strings at the first-floor level and below the eaves soffit. The facade has five double-hung hornless sash windows, each with six panes, all set within flat-gauged brick arches and exposed boxes. The central front door consists of six panels, flanked by fluted pilasters and sheltered by a flat hood supported on double ogee brackets. Three gabled dormers are visible. The roof is gabled and covered with peg tiles, featuring two end wall chimney stacks built into bridge gables, with corbelling at the eaves. The original plan was rectangular, although later additions have been made.
