Description

This is a pair of early 19th-century cottages located in The Close, South Benfleet. They are timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a hipped roof covered in grey slate. A central chimney stack is constructed of red brick. The cottages have two storeys and a two-window range of sash windows with glazing bars, visible on both the west (facing The Close) and south elevations. The south face features 20th-century panelled doors with pentice boards above, one to the right and one to the left. A two-storey extension, built of matching materials, adjoins the north face, with a single window range and a 20th-century door.
