Description

This is a 19th-century gas lamp located outside 7 The Close in South Benfleet. It is made of cast iron and features a fluted stem with a moulded capital and base. The lamp has large lighting handles above the capital and a four-faced design that narrows towards the base, which is supported by incurved brackets. The head of the lamp is hipped and includes acroteria and a ventilator topped with a pointed acorn finial.
