Description

A gas lamp standard, dating from around 1900. Constructed of cast iron, it features a fluted shaft with a splayed base and culminates in a cushion-shaped top with a minimal waterleaf capital. Four curved wrought-iron stays support a glazed mantle cage, and a double bell finial sits atop the lamp. The gas apparatus remains in working order. This lamp forms part of a significant grouping around Peter's Field and is included on the list for its contribution to the wider group.
