Description

The Benfleet Conservative Club, located on South Benfleet High Street, is a building dating from the 17th century or earlier, with subsequent alterations and additions. It was originally a house. The building is timber-framed and rendered with a red plain tiled roof. The main structure features a hip roof with a gablet range to the left, and a central chimney stack to the right. A 20th-century extension projects to the right. The front facade has a 1:2 window arrangement, featuring a mix of casements and sliding sash windows. Access is via a 20th-century extension or the rear face, which opens onto The Close. This rear elevation has a 3:2 window arrangement to the first floor, a 1:1 arrangement to the ground floor, all with 20th-century casements, and a lean-to 20th-century porch on the right.
