Description

This is a row of former Coast Guard cottages, built in the late 19th century. The cottages, at numbers 1 and 1A Haven Road, are timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a grey slate roof. There are five chimney stacks, located at both the front and rear of the building. The cottages are two storeys high. Originally, six pairs of first-floor doors led out to a timber balcony. There are nine first and ground floor windows and nine ground floor doors, all presently boarded up. The ground floor doors appear to be vertically boarded, with tripartite fanlights above them. The windows are vertically sliding sash windows with glazing bars.
