Description
This is a barn located approximately 30 meters northwest of Rolls Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century and extended in the later 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of red clay Roman tiles. The barn consists of three bays aligned northeast-southwest, featuring a midstrey on the southeast side. It has been extended to the southwest by five additional bays, with another midstrey on the southeast side. There are lean-to extensions on both sides of the midstreys. The southwest end has eight reused jowled posts, while the other posts are unjowled. The structure includes primary straight bracing, with straight braces to the tiebeams, some of which have been replaced by bolted knees. The original barn has a joggled butt-purlin roof, while the extension features a clasped purlin roof.
