Description

Gresham House is a late 18th century timber-framed and plastered house located on Bradford Street. It is two stories and has a basement. The front facade, once timber-framed and plastered, is now finished with pebble-dashed panels. It has a four-window arrangement with double-hung sash windows featuring glazing bars, set within flush-cased frames. The entrance features a six-panel door, with the upper panels glazed, and a blocked semi-circular fanlight above it. The door is surrounded by a wooden doorcase featuring pilasters and an open pediment. The roof is slate covered. Inside, there is an 18th century staircase.

Gresham House is part of a group of listed buildings ranging from number 19 to 41 on the west side, and from number 4 to 20 on the east side, including Bawn Cottage and Bawn Close. It also forms a group with listed buildings from number 37 to 89 (inclusive of numbers 57, 61, and 61A) on the west side, alongside numbers 24 to 56A on the east side.
