Description
The barn at Borley Green Lodge Farm dates from the 15th and 17th centuries. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a gabled corrugated iron roof. The barn features five bays and has a central gabled midstrey on the south side. Attached to the southwest is a cart lodge, which has a hipped corrugated iron roof and a brick end wall, with some flint rubble and brick dressings. The barn includes three 15th-century bays, characterized by jowled posts, arch bracing, and splayed and bridled scarf joints. The central truss is assembled in reverse, with side jowls. The remaining two bays are 17th-century extensions, featuring slender bracing and long tapering jowls.
