Description

This barn, located 50 metres southeast of Borley Place, dates back to the early 15th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, featuring a weatherboarded dado and a red plain tile roof. The barn is five bays long and includes a gabled porch on the east side. Inside, it has arch bracing to the tie beam, with tall down-braced crown posts. Originally, the barn had a hipped roof, but the gable ends were altered in the 17th century, incorporating short side purlins. Notable architectural details include jowled storey posts, curved wall bracing, and halved and bridled top plate scarfs.
