Description

Eyston Hall is a country house dating to the early 19th century. It is constructed of gault brick with a slate roof, comprising three parallel hipped ranges and a range set at a right angle to the garden front. The house has two storeys and a square plan, although it has been substantially extended on the northeastern side.

The southeast garden front features five bays, with the central bay and outer edges emphasized by pilaster strips. A high string band separates the floors. The windows are double-hung sashes with marginal glazing bars and a single central glazing bar, some retaining contemporary louvred shutters. A central stucco porch has a flat top and pairs of Tuscan columns. The southwest elevation is similar, but includes a semicircular bay with sash windows. The entrance front exposes the hipped roof ends, with seven bays, some containing blind window openings. A pedimented porch, with a slate roof and a large triple keystone in stucco, gives access to a central door topped with a semicircular fanlight. The house stands within a moated site.
