Description
Willow Cottage is a house dating from around 1600, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber framed and has a roughcast rendered exterior, topped with a roof of handmade red clay tiles. The house has three bays facing southwest, featuring an internal stack at the right end, a single-storey extension at the front of the right end, and a small 20th-century extension at the rear of the left end. It is joined at the southwest to number 60 and at the southeast to number 2 Bell Lane. The building has two storeys with attics and a two-window range of 20th-century casements, along with a 20th-century door located in the left return wall. Inside, the cottage features jowled posts and curved tension braces set within the studs, as well as original floors on both levels. The interior also includes chamfered transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops and plain joists of vertical section. The roof structure consists of clasped purlins with cranked collars.
