Description
Old Roses is a cottage dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with handmade red clay tiles. It has two bays facing southwest, featuring an internal stack at the rear of the right bay and an external stack at the left end. There is a flat-roofed single-storey extension added in 1978. The cottage is two storeys high, with the ground floor displaying two 20th-century casement windows and the first floor featuring two 19th-century horizontally sliding sash windows with 12 lights each. A glazed door is located at the front of a 20th-century hipped porch. Inside, the right bay has a chamfered axial beam without stops, while the left bay contains longitudinal joists of square section.
