Description

Panfield Farmhouse is a house from the early 19th century. It is primarily built of gault brick in Flemish bond, with the rear constructed of red brick in the same bond, and has a slate roof. The house has a double pile plan facing north and features two internal stacks that are symmetrically arranged. To the right, there is a 19th-century lean-to extension. The building is two storeys high.

On the ground floor, there are two original sash windows with 16 lights each, topped with flat brick arches. The first floor has two similar sash windows and one with 12 lights located above the central door. Some of the glass is crown glass. The central entrance features a six-panel door with glazed top panels, set within a 20th-century porch that has a pediment and simple columns. The corners of the house are accentuated by plain giant pilasters, and the central section of the façade is slightly set forward.

On the left side of the house, there are inscriptions reading 'M.B. 1844', 'J.B. 1844', and 'Dr. B'. The rear elevation mirrors the front but is made of red brick, with segmental window arches and a similar door that has a flat canopy supported by profiled brackets. Inside, there is an original staircase featuring scrolled tread ends, a wreathed rosewood handrail, and stick balusters.
