Description

This barn, located approximately 30 metres south-west of Blixes Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of corrugated asbestos. The structure consists of five bays aligned north-south, featuring a midstrey on the east side. It has heavy studding and primary straight bracing, with straight braces supporting the tiebeams. The roof is a clasped purlin type with collars at half-bay intervals. The lower walls are concreted on the inside, while the upper walls still have wattle and daub infill beneath the weatherboarding.
