Description

Dines Hall is a house that dates back to the medieval period or the 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure, with plastered brickwork on the right gable wall, and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The building has four bays facing approximately northwest, with an axial stack located one bay from the left end and an internal stack positioned behind the ridge at the right end. The right bay has one storey with attics, while the rest of the house has two storeys.

On the ground floor, there are two early 19th-century sash windows with 16 lights and crown glass, along with four 20th-century casements. The first floor also features two similar sash windows and two 20th-century casements. There are two 20th-century doors at the rear of the house.

Access to the interior was refused during the survey in February 1985, but according to the owner, the interior was extensively modernised and plastered in 1961 and 1962. It retains oak framing and studding, some wattle and daub infill, and the original northwest wallplate, with another wallplate above it. A proper interior inspection is still needed, but based on current information, this house is believed to be medieval or from the 16th century, with the roof raised in three bays. Both stacks are small and late in date. The house is situated on a moated site.
