Description

Batemans Farmhouse is a cottage that dates back to around 1500, with some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof and featuring a red brick chimney stack. It has two storeys and includes 20th-century red tiled lean-to extensions on both the left and right sides. There is a 20th-century door leading to the lean-to on the right, accompanied by a range of 20th-century casement windows to the right of the door. The left extension has two 20th-century casements. Notably, there are no first-floor windows on the right wall. Inside, the heavy side girts, top plates, and close studs of the original frame can be seen in some of the walls.
