Description
Pump Cottage and Claydens are two cottages located on Mill Road in Foxearth. The central range dates from the 17th century and may be even older, with 19th century and later additions and alterations. The central range is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof featuring three red tiled gabled dormers and three red brick chimney stacks. There are lower extensions on both the right and left sides, with the right extension having a gabled dormer and finished in grey slate, while the left is covered in red tiles. The cottages are one storey with attics and have a window arrangement of one, two, and two small paned casements. The door on the left is a four-panelled design with two lights in a segmental head surround, while the right door is a recessed 18th century four-panel design with two lights. Inside the left cottage, there are exposed beams.
