Description

Cheney Cottage is a pair of cottages built as a single range, dating to the 17th century and altered in the mid-19th century. The ground floor is broken by a central cart entrance. The cottages are timber-framed, with a 17th-century brick plinth. The walls are roughcast, and the roof is low-pitched slate with wide eaves. Two stacks are made of white brick. Cheney Cottage, the right-hand cottage, has a centrally located recessed half-glazed door. Single sash windows are present on either side. Above, there are 19th-century cast iron casements; No. 1 has two glazing bar casements. The east entrance features a 19th-century moulded architrave.
