Description
Liston Garden is a house dating from around 1500, with later alterations and a 20th-century extension to the right. It features a timber frame and rough render, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and attics, with a five-window range of 20th-century small paned casements. There is an off-centre plain boarded door and an off-centre red brick chimney stack, along with another red brick chimney stack to the right. At the rear, there is a wing. Inside, the house has a back-to-back inglenook fireplace and much exposed timber, including chamfered beams and a bladed scarf. It appears that the house may have collapsed in the 16th or 17th century and was rebuilt around the original circa 1500 chimney stack.
