Description
Foxearth Hall is a house that dates back to the late 13th century, with a late 15th to early 16th century right crosswing and a 19th century left crosswing. The structure is timber framed and has panel pargetting, featuring jettied crosswings on both the right and left sides. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and there are three red brick chimney stacks with moulded octagonal shafts, arranged from left to right as 3, 2, and 4. The building has two storeys, with a window arrangement of 1:4:1 on the first floor and 1:3:1 on the ground floor, showcasing vari-light leaded casements, including one original 17th century window. To the right, there is a lean-to greenhouse, and a central 20th century gabled and plastered porch leads to a plank and muntin door. Inside, the hall features an entire open structure with a four-arm crownpost roof, two arms down braced, and the timbers are heavily sooted. The original floored service end has a hipped roof that now oversails. The right crosswing includes a stop-chamfered two-arm crown post, and the first floor bridging joist is moulded with foliate stops. Original service doors remain in the original partition. The hall is situated on a moated site.
