Description
Fisher's Farmhouse is a house dating from the 15th or 16th century, with later alterations. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The building features red brick chimney stacks, one on the left exterior and another off-center to the right. It has two storeys and a jettied rear (south) face from the original construction. The front has a four-window range of 19th-century style two-light casements with central glazing bars. There is a modern porch on the right side with glazed doors. Inside, notable features include a large chimney stack with back-to-back fireplaces, which now has a 20th-century fire surround but retains the original mantel beam above. The interior also showcases stop-chamfered bridging and ceiling joists, jowled storey posts on both the ground and first floors, and one arched brace to the tie beam, while the other brace has been removed for headroom. The top plate has a halved and bridled scarf joint.
