Description
Rose Farmhouse is a house from the 17th century, likely with earlier origins, which has undergone later alterations and has a 19th-century rear addition. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof and features an off-centre red brick chimney stack. It has a baffle entry and stands two storeys tall. On the first floor, there are three 19th-century three-light casement windows. The ground floor includes a left-side French window, with the date 1891 scratched on the glass, along with a 19th-century two-light casement and a small paned vertically sliding sash window. The entrance features a two-panel, two-light door with a fluted surround and a flat canopy. Inside, notable features include a restored back-to-back inglenook fireplace, a brick floor, and a vertically boarded cupboard in the kitchen. The rear wall studs appear to date back to the 16th century.
