Description

This is an 18th-century house with a front facade applied to a likely 17th-century timber-framed structure. It is two storeys high with attics and has a six-window front. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars, set within flush cased frames. A segmental arched carriage entrance is located at the south end, featuring a keystone, a small cornice, and a three-light window above. The central entrance has a six-panel door with glazed upper panels, recessed within a well-detailed Roman Doric doorcase; this features fluted pilasters, a triglyph frieze, and a segmental pediment, and is accessed by stone steps. The roof is tiled, with a wooden eaves cornice. The listed buildings from number 19 to number 41 on the west side, and numbers 4 to 20 on the east side, form a group with Bawn Cottage, Bawn Close.
