Description

Beechcroft is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house, possibly dating from an earlier period, with an 18th-century front. The building has two storeys, attics, and a cellar. It features a two-window range with double-hung sash windows that have glazing bars, set in flush cased frames. The entrance includes a six-panel door, with the upper panels glazed, framed by a wood doorcase that has a moulded architrave and cornice. The roof is tiled and includes one flat-headed dormer with old leaded casements. Beechcroft is part of a group of listed buildings that includes Nos. 19 to 41 on the west side and Nos. 4 to 20 on the east side, along with Bawn Cottage and Bawn Close.
