Description

This house, located approximately 530 meters east of Paines Manor, dates from the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber frame with plaster and a red pantiled roof that has two ranges, hipped to the left. The building is two stories high, with a first floor that has a 2:4 window arrangement and a ground floor with a 2:2 window arrangement, all fitted with 20th-century small paned casements. There is an enclosed pantiled porch to the left and a central vertical boarded door. The house has two red brick chimney stacks. Inside, there are heavy stop-chamfered bridging and ceiling joists. It is reputed to have original mullion windows in the north wall.
