Description

This is an early 14th-century house, originally a timber-framed hall house. It is located on Colneford Hill in White Colne. It began as a crosswing of an open hall house, with a gable facing the street, and was extended to the rear in the 15th century. The house has two storeys. A 20th-century sash window with 16 lights is visible on the first floor. The front features a 19th-century shopfront, which has been altered in the 20th century. The exterior is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a roof of handmade red plain tiles. An inscription, "P E A 1743", is found on the southwest wall. Some original timber framing is exposed inside. The house is related to the neighbouring property at number 24.
