Description
The garden walls and railings, dating from the mid to late 18th century and mid 19th century, run from a gate pier to the west of the entrance to the Old Rectory along the south side of Rectory Road and along the east side of Church Street to the brook. The structure features a mid to late 18th century Flemish bond brick wall with pilasters and brick-on-edge coping, extending approximately 110 meters from the brook in Church Street to its junction with Rectory Road. Flanking about 23 meters of mid 19th century arrow head cast iron railings with narrow anthenion panels between are piers with moulded stone cornices and ball finials. Additionally, there is approximately 25 meters of mostly mid 19th century brick wall leading to a mid 19th century pier with moulded brick coping and a stone ball finial to the west of the entrance drive to the Old Rectory.
