Description
Nos. 34, 36, and 38 Church Street is a house that has been converted into three cottages. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and has undergone later alterations and additions. The building is primarily timber framed and plastered, featuring some pargetting and brick facing, with red plain tiled roofs. There are central and right red brick chimney stacks. The center range is one storey with attics, while the right and left sides have two-storey gabled crosswings and a single-storey extension to the left. Flat-headed dormers are present on the right and left returns, and there are two gabled dormers on the center range. The windows consist of a 1:1:1 arrangement of various small-paned casements and vertically sliding sashes. The left extension has double garage doors, while the left crosswing features a 20th-century panelled door in a moulded surround. The center range has a four-panelled door with a moulded surround and dentilled frieze, and there is another 20th-century panelled door on the right return.
