Description

The White Horse Inn is a public house with origins dating back to the 15th century or earlier, featuring later alterations and additions from the 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with red plain tile roofs. The building has two red brick chimney stacks on the central range and an external chimney stack on the left gabled crosswing. There is a jetty and lean-to on the right gabled crosswing, while the original jetty on the left crosswing has been underbuilt. The inn is two storeys high, with attics and cellars. The front has a window arrangement of 1:2:1, consisting mainly of small paned vertically sliding sashes set in moulded surrounds, with some windows featuring three lights. The entrance on the left crosswing has an 18th-century six-panelled door with a moulded surround, frieze, and flat canopy. To the right of the central range, there is a 20th-century glazed and panelled door with a sidelight. Inside, the building features chamfered and moulded beams along with some original roof construction.
