Description
The cartlodge, located approximately 30 metres north-west of Hunt's Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century. It is timber framed with some weatherboarding and has a thatched roof. The structure consists of four bays aligned roughly north to south, with the sides and ends open to eaves level. The northern end is weatherboarded from the tiebeam to the collar, while the southern end was originally treated similarly but is now open. The roof is half-hipped at both ends and the building is one storey high. It features wide arched braces connecting all posts to the wallplates, which are fully jointed and pegged, along with bolted knees to the tiebeams and a clasped purlin roof. As of October 1984, the frame was in good order, although much of the thatch was missing.
