Description

This is a wall built in the late 18th century, located approximately 12 metres north-west of Hill House in Hatfield Peverel. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and extends about 33 metres along the south side of The Street. The wall features seven square piers and three buttresses on each side, with a height that varies from 2 to 2.5 metres. In the 20th century, the piers were raised by about one metre. The original railings and gate mentioned in 1980 have been replaced by a brick wall and gateway.
