Description
Hill House is a house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of gault brick and has a slate roof. The building has a square plan that faces northwest, with an internal stack on each side. There is a 20th-century two-storey extension on the left side and a small extension in the angle. The house is two storeys high and features a three-window range of original sash windows with 12 lights. The upper windows have flat arches made of blue brick and 20th-century louvred shutters, while the lower windows have flat architraves supported by console brackets.
The central entrance has a six-panel door, with the upper four panels being glazed. It is framed by a Greek Doric porch with fluted columns and is accessed by seven stone steps. The central bay of the house is slightly advanced and is flanked by wide giant angle pilasters. The roof is hipped with a shallow pitch and has overhanging eaves. Each stack on the roof features three octagonal shafts.
