Description
Woodbarn's Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring red plain tiled roofs. The building consists of four ranges, including a bakehouse or brewhouse on the left side of the main range and two attached crosswings on the right.
The left range is one storey with attics, featuring two 3-light 19th-century casement windows and two gabled dormers, which have bargeboards. It also has vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars. There is a well-crafted plank and muntin door on the left return and a 17th-century external red brick chimney stack, which includes the original internal fireplace and copper. An off-centre red brick chimney stack is also present.
The central range is two storeys and has one window range of 18th-century small paned vertical sliding sashes. To the left of this range is a two-panel door with a top light set in a moulded surround, along with a 20th-century red tiled hipped porch and an off-centre red brick chimney stack.
The right range is one storey with an attic, featuring one small paned casement window at the front and left return, as well as a 20th-century half-glazed door. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams and 18th-century doors with original catches.
