Description

This barn, located approximately 15 metres north of Water Hall, dates back to the early 17th century. It features a timber frame that is partly weatherboarded and partly plastered, with a thatched roof made of reed. The barn is arranged in four bays, aligned from north-northwest to south-southeast, and has a single aisle to the east-north-east. The roof is half-hipped, and there is a small lean-to extension at the northeast corner. Inside, the barn showcases heavy studding, primary curved bracing in the walls, some panels of original wattle and daub, arched braces to the tiebeams, face-halved and bladed scarfs, and a clasped purlin roof.
