Description

This is a barn located south-southwest of Will Hall Farmhouse, dating from the early 17th century. It is timber-framed, with parts weatherboarded and others featuring red brick nogging. The barn has a slate roof with half-hipped ends and clay plain tile hipped canopies over the cart entrances. The structure consists of seven bays, with aisles on the northeast and southwest sides and a central threshing bay.

The exterior showcases square wall-framing with red brick nogging, which has been partly faced or rebuilt at the center on curved braces. The northeast cart entrance is blocked, and two smaller doors have been inserted. Inside, the barn features a seven-bay frame with large jowled arcade-posts that have curved braces connecting to the arcade-plates and tie-beams. The roof structure includes tie-beam and collar trusses with curved queen-struts, diminished principals, clasped purlins, curved wind-braces, and intact common-rafter couples. There are also aisle-ties and passing braces connecting the aisle-posts to the arcade-posts.
