Description

This barn, located 45 metres north-north-west of Allshot's Farmhouse, dates from around 1700. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a roof covered in corrugated iron. The structure consists of five bays arranged approximately east-west and features an original midstrey to the south. The main frame is pegged and made of hardwood, with primary straight bracing and arched braces supporting the straight tie beams. The roof has clasped purlins. The base is constructed of red brick in English bond, although the southeast and northwest corners have been replaced with breezeblock. The barn has large timber doors, which are modern replacements faced with corrugated iron.
