Description
Prospect House is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of The Green in Finchingsfield. The building features a plastered exterior and a slate roof, with chimney shafts made of gault brick. It has a square plan facing east and includes four internal stacks arranged symmetrically. At the rear, there is a full-width slated canopy and a conservatory situated at the rear right corner.
The house has two storeys and a two-window range of original sash windows with 16 lights, along with one window above the door that has twelve lights and a semi-circular head. The entrance features a half-glazed door with an overlight, set within a portico supported by wooden columns on square plinths, and accessed by two stone steps. The roof is of H-plan with two front gables, where the pitches are faced with fishscale slates, while the remainder of the roof is covered with plain slates. Most of the side windows are original sashes, and many retain their crown glass.
