Description
Crofton Engineering Limited is a Grade II listed building, originally two dwellings from the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with plastered walls and a plain tiled roof, topped with two reduced ridge stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has a rear outshut. Notable architectural details include a coved eaves cornice, a painted brick and plastered plinth, and two entrances. The left entrance has a six-panelled door with a wooden pilastered doorcase and cornice, flanked by two twenty-paned flush-framed hung sash windows. The right entrance features a boarded door beside a shallow bay window with horizontal sliding sashes and one two-light horizontal sliding sash window. On the first floor, there are two sixteen-paned hung sash windows and two horizontal sliding sash windows. Historically, this building served as the brewer's house for the former Linton Brewery and was briefly the Unicorn Public House, owned by Richard and Henry Prior from around 1840.
