Description

No. 5, The Grip is a late 16th-century cottage. It is timber-framed and now plastered, with modern pargetting decoration. The roof is thatched, with a tall red brick ridge stack. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, and has a rear outshut. There is a boarded door on the left-hand side, and three ground-floor windows, two of which have horizontal sliding sashes. A single eyebrow dormer window is also present.
