Description
Sheen Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on the north side of Station Road in Meldreth. It is timber framed, plaster rendered, and topped with long straw thatch, featuring a grey brick end stack with a single flue. The cottage consists of two bays facing the road and is one storey high with an attic. There is one dormer window that includes an 18th to 19th-century iron casement. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window with a narrow hood and a boarded shutter. The doorway has a moulded architrave and a boarded door from the early 19th century, along with a narrow hood supported by cut brackets. At the rear, there are mid-20th-century brick additions. Previously, there was a threshing barn adjoining the north end, which has since been demolished, and it is possible that the cottage was converted from part of this barn.
