Description
Fieldgate Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century and 18th century. It is timber framed, plaster rendered, and features steeply pitched tiled roofs with ridge and end stacks. The original late 17th century section has a single range two bay plan with an outshut at the rear. An 18th century single bay was added to the north end. The house has two storeys and an attic. The late 17th century part originally had a gabled dormer on the east side, which has since been removed. On the main front, there are two wood windows from around 1984 and two at ground level. The 18th century addition, possibly a parlour bay, also has two storeys and an attic, with one gable dormer and one window from around 1984 on each storey, along with a door in its original location from around 1984. Adjoining the south end is a 19th century barn made of red brick and slate.
