Description
This building, known as Carriers, is a cottage dating from around 1800. It features slender timber framing that is rendered and has a tiled mansard roof with a rebuilt red brick chimney. The cottage has a three-bay plan and a lobby-entry, consisting of one storey and an attic. There are two dormers and two casement windows on either side of the door, all of which are from the 20th century. Inside, the small abutting hearths have been rebuilt, and a new staircase has been added in place of the original. To the left, there is a sunken bay that was likely used as a dairy originally and later converted into a cellar when the cottage served as the Carriers public house.
