Description

Meldreth Thatch is a cottage located on Station Road in Meldreth, dating from the late 17th century. The building features a timber frame, is rendered, and has a half-hipped roof covered with long straw thatch. It has a ridge stack and a later end stack. Originally, the cottage was a single range with a lobby entry plan facing the road. It is one storey high with an attic, and there are two dormers on the south side and one on the north side. The original doorway for the lobby entry remains, while other openings have been replaced with mid to late 20th-century small pane casements. At the east end, there is a two-storey crosswing added in the mid-20th century, which is also thatched.
