Description

This is a cottage dating from the mid- to late 17th century. It is constructed of brick, with plaster rendering and a half-hipped long straw thatched roof. The cottage originally had a two-bay plan, but was extended by one bay to the road and at the rear. It has one storey and an attic, with a dormer window. A small red brick stack has been rebuilt, and there is another stack at the end of the building. Inside, the ceiling of one ground floor room retains original joists and a main beam carved with stylized foliate decoration, including an ovolo moulding on the main beam.
