Description

No. 41 Whitecroft Road is a late 17th-century cottage located in Meldreth. It features a timber frame with roughcast render that has replaced the original plaster, and one end is weatherboarded. The roof is thatched with long straw, half-hipped, and has two grey brick ridge stacks; the stack facing the road is original, while the other was added when the cottage was subdivided. The cottage has a three-bay plan, which includes a narrower bay designated as a pantry or larder. The entrance is located at the end of the hall. It is one storey with an attic, and there is a small 19th-century casement window in both the centre and parlour bays. The gable end features casement windows on both the attic and ground floors.
