Description
Oaklands is a house dating from the early 17th century. It is timber-framed and plaster rendered, featuring a steeply pitched tiled roof and a 19th-century rebuilt gault brick ridge stack. The house has a lobby entry plan and is likely three bays in total, although one bay has been removed. There are two storeys, each with two mid-20th century casements. The original doorway is located opposite the stack, with a later doorway added to the left. The entrance has a narrow hood and a boarded door. Some of the framing is exposed on the gable end, and there is a leanto with a tiled roof that partially replaces the removed bay. Inside, the first floor features a rectangular fireplace surround with vine scroll enrichment and stop-chamfered main beams.
