Description
No. 13 West Street is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, roughcast render, and a thatched roof. The building features a grey gault brick axial ridge stack with two flues. The cottage is arranged in three bays, with what appears to be a later 19th-century shop in the right-hand bay, while the central and left bays serve as the house. It has one storey and an attic. The gable ends have small casement windows, and the front wall includes three windows, one of which is a small pane horizontal sliding sash. There is also a boarded house door and a shop window and door to the right. At the rear, there is a pair of mid to late 19th-century cottages that are rendered clay bat on a high white brick plinth, with one wall having been repaired. These cottages have a pantiled roof and a shared grey brick stack. The first floor features two flush frame small fixed light windows, along with one original door and window for each cottage.
